LOCATION

The Havannah is set on one of the best beaches of Efate, surrounded by the crystal clear waters of Havannah Harbour, and overlooking the islands of Lelepa and Moso.  Located on the North West Coast of Efate Island, and just a 30 minute drive from Port Vila, The Havannah is perfect as a secluded retreat yet close enough to the sights Efate has to offer, including Cascade Waterfalls, bush walks, dive sites and Port Vila.  Your stay at the Havannah includes complimentary transfers to Port Vila twice daily run by our shuttle bus.

GETTING HERE

Flights operate from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Fiji (Nadi), New Caledonia (Noumea) and the Solomon Islands (Honiara). A little known fact is that Vanuatu is so close to our neighbours, so you can be here within a few short hours… it’s only a little over 2 hours from Brisbane, 3 from Sydney or Auckland, 4.5 hrs direct from Melbourne or a short 1.5 hour hop from Fiji or Noumea. Please see below for information on airlines and airport transfers.

AIRLINES

The national carrier is Air Vanuatu.  If you are looking to travel to the outer islands to see one of our volcanoes or experience other islands, they offer great packages if you combine the international flight with your domestic flights. Air Vanuatu operates all routes except for flights to and from the Solomon Islands.  You can check their flights and availability here.

Virgin Australia operates flights 3 times a week between Brisbane and Port Vila. Flights are usually each Wednesday and Saturday, with an additional Sunday flight during peak months.  To check their availability, click here.

Fiji Airways (formerly Air Pacific) flies from Nadi or Suva to Port Vila most days – and offers onward flights to New Zealand, Tahiti, Honiara, the USA and Canada. For Fiji Airways flight schedules, click here.

Air Cailin fly twice a week from Noumea to Port Vila – each Friday and Sunday. To find out more, click here.

Solomon Airlines flies from Port Vila to Honiara once a week. To find their timetables and rates, click here.

Air Niugini flies between Port Moresby and Port Vila via Honiara once a week. Please see their website to find out more details

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

The Havannah is just a 30 minute drive from Port Vila airport, or if you would like something extra special, we can book a helicopter transfer with a scenic flight over the coast and nearby islands.

Please be sure to inform reservations of your flight details (flight numbers and arrival and departure times) prior to arrival so we can book your airport transfers for you.

Road Transfers

Return airport transfers are included in your villa rate.  These can be booked at the time of Villa reservation. Please advise your arrival and departure flight details. A friendly representative from The Havannah Vanuatu will meet you after you have cleared customs and immigration procedures; offer chilled hand towel, chilled bottle of water and a comfortable, air-conditioned transfer straight to the resort.

Taxis can be found at the airport, and they have a fixed rate of 8,000vt one way (approx AUD $100) from the airport to The Havannah.

You may also organise a hire car for your stay, however we find that most people are happy to hire a car for just 2-3 days during their stay so they can explore the island… and are otherwise quite content to relax at the resort. Hire car prices vary from around 8,000vt a day (AUD $100) up to 17,000vt per day (AUD $210).

Please note that even if you choose to hire a car or take a taxi, we do ask that you send us your flight details so we can liaise with the airport in case of flight disruptions, and we have an idea of your arrival and departure times. Many flights come in late at night, and if we are not advised of your arrival time in advance, we may not have late night reception staff to greet you and show you to your villa.

Helicopter Transfers

For a scenic arrival, flying over waterfalls, islands, aqua blue reef and dense rainforest, ask us about helicopter transfers.  The Vanuatu Helicopters staff will greet you at the arrivals terminal and escort you to the helipad next door. If you are lucky you may see a dugong, dolphins or turtles during your flight! Please note that for helicopter transfers, luggage is restricted to 15kg per person, and any additional luggage will be follow you by road. Please contact us for pricing and flight options.
